Student Filmmakers Win Award For Short Films on Increasing Awareness About Heart Disorders Among Young Indians

Chennai, January, 2023Prashanth Hospitals in association with the Department of Visual Communications, Loyola College today announced the winners of the ‘Heart Film Festival’ organized as part of the Save Young Hearts campaign. The award was bestowed upon three students by renowned Director Mr. Vetrimaran in an event organized at Loyola College today in the presence of other dignitaries. Along with the award, the top three winners were also rewarded with an exciting cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh, Rs.50,000 and Rs.25,000 respectively. A magazine on Save Young Hearts campaign was also launched by Director Vetrimaran.  

The first prize was awarded to the movie titled Dopamine Devils for their brilliant and creative effort in showcasing the significance of cardiac wellness amongst youngsters. Films tilted Vizhithukkol and Lifestyle were awarded the second and the third prizes respectively. 

Commenting on the occasion, Dr. Prashanth Krishna, Managing Director of Prashanth Hospitals, Chennai, said “The increase in the number of youngsters who face sudden heart attacks is alarming. Heart health has certainly taken a second seat among youngsters and as a responsible institution we set out early last year to create an impactful campaign that strongly established the importance of altering lifestyle and dietary patterns. Today we are happy that the campaign has successfully reached many youngsters and this is only the first step in the long journey ahead. I would like to congratulate the winners for bringing out such gripping films and thank Loyola College for their support during the campaign.” 

Adding to this, National Award Winning Director, Mr. Vetrimaran said “The films I have watched today are phenomenal and they will truly make a difference in the lives of young people. It is of absolute importance today to create awareness about heart health, especially among young people and I’m happy that Prashanth Hospitals and Loyola College jointly have undertaken this initiative. I would like to congratulate the winners and wish them success.”
