Chennai:Bharatiya Janata Party’s spokesperson and fashion designer Shaina N.C. on Saturday said Tamil Nadu BJP president K. Annamalai was raising legitimate questions on corruption and expressed the hope that he will be able to bring about a change in the State.
To a question from an audience member at a joint base. meeting here of the Rotary Club of Madras, Rotary Club of Madras East and Rotary Next Gen, where she delivered a speech, Ms.Shaina said that Mr. Anna malai had a huge support
base.
She said the people of Tamil Nadu should consid- er the BJP as an option if they wanted stability, good governance and the vision of Prime Minister narendra modi.
She spoke on the need for increased representation of women in Parlia ment, which she said was low at just 14.6%.Stating that the BJP was a party with a difference, Ms. Shai- na pointed out that it gave 33% representation organisationally.
Dismissing concerns that husbands would call the shots if more women become elected representatives, she said that may be the case for a brief period. “Once the women get the hang of it and know. how to play the game, they will not only be conscientious and capable, but will give back to the society in a larger way ” She said ..
Ms. Shaina gave away the awards of Rotary Club of Madras to various women achievers.
