Chennai, November 2024: Gleneagles Hospital Chennai celebrated the successful completion of over 200 robotic gynaecology surgeries led by Dr Padmapriya Vivek, Director, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Gleneagles Hospital Chennai, the hospital became the first in Tamil Nadu to reach this milestone, marking a significant advancement in women’s health. Post these surgeries recovery has been quick, allowing patients to be discharged within 16 to 18 hours, underscoring the efficiency and safety of this advanced surgical approach. With the introduction of the robotic gynaecology surgery, the boundaries of patient care and advancing minimally invasive surgical techniques has tremendously evolved in the last few years.

We have even removed a 2.5 kg fibroid uterus thus preserving the fertility for a patient. This will ensure she can have a baby in the future,” Dr Padmapriya Vivek pointed out.
