Chennai, Friday, 9th December 2022….The Katupalli Port team along with the Adani Foundation today handed over 8 community toilets, housed in two buildings to the Kattur panchayat. Prior to this, about 756 families residing in Kattur colony of Minjur Block have been trying to overcome insufficient toilet facilities and resultant health issues.
The Adani foundation team stationed at the Katupalli Port regularly works with the villagers to understand the issues being faced on the ground. Hence, understanding the problems faced by the women, the Adani Foundation came forward to construct community toilets at Kattur Colony, Kattur Panchayat under their program of promoting Health care for rural communities centric to Women and children.
In the presence of Mr. K C Selvaraman, President, Kattur Panchayat, Ms. Nandhini Neelavannan, Counsellor, Ms. Revathi Shanmugam, Vice President, Kattur Panchayat, Village Leaders, Ward Members and community members, the Community Toilet for Women was inaugurated by Mr. Ramde Karangiya, Terminal Head of Adani Kattupalli Port and Mr. Chandra Shekhar Gowda, Chief Operating Officer, Adani Foundation. The Panchayat President said during the inaugural function “We thank Adani Foundation for coming forward to support our women and I ensure that from panchayat, we will maintain the toilet by appointing one support staff”
