Dance Vasant Utsav was held at Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple, Mylapore on behalf of Saraswati Educational Cultural Charitable Trust.

The event was inaugurated by Revathy Ramachandran, former director of Kalakshetra Trust, Tamil Nadu Commissioner of Hindu Religious Charities, KV Muralitharan, Tamil Nadu Director of Arts and Culture, SR Gandhi.

Also the great gurus of Melatur Bhagavata Mela S. Kumar, S Narasimhan Dr. S. Venkatesan for contributing to the preservation of Bhagavata Mela and heritage
Ramesh Hanglu, Mahesh Kaul for service to the promotion of Kashmiri culture, Lokesh Sharma for his contribution to the preservation of Vedic heritage,
For his contribution to the preservation of the Shiv Siddhanta legacy Nagappan Odhuar was honored and presented with a memento.

Bharatanatyam performance by Dr. Vijay Madhavan and team was performed on the opening day.

For more than 20 years, Dalveru has been conducting programs through the educational and cultural charity. In continuation of this more than 20 programs are held at Kapaleeswarar temple every year from 1st to 11th of May. Apart from this, it works enthusiastically in imparting education to the children of roadside dwellers

In ancient times dance performances were held in temples. That legacy is now forgotten. We are holding this event at the famous Kapaleeswarar temple to restore it and make it known to the people of Chennai.

It is customary to perform color ceremonies to identify and honor outstanding spiritual geniuses

Among the 20 programs, Kathak and Swarali of Devanya school by Guru Jikyasa Giri and Kathak by Medha Kumbojkar, Odici by Guru Sanhita Basu and Konarak Odici Academy, Kuchipudi Kalaimamani by Srikala Bharat Kalai Academy Kuchipudi, he said.
