Home-based women entrepreneurs honoured with Sakthi Masala’s Homepreneur Awards/Suya Sakthi Virudhugal 2023

The Lady Andal Auditorium in Chennai came alive on August 20th as Sakthi Masala proudly presented the Sakthi Masala’s Homepreneur Awards /Suya Sakthi Virudhugal , an initiative by Brand Avatar. This prestigious event marked a celebration of the resolute spirit of women who have turned their homes into business hubs. 

For six remarkable years, Sakthi Masala’s HOMEPRENEUR AWARDS /Suya Sakthi Virudhugal an initiative by Brand Avatar has been a beacon of inspiration for countless women who have pursued business from home. Over 15 home-based women entrepreneurs across 12 categories, including social welfare, agriculture, and digital, were recognised and honoured at the 6th edition of Sakthi Masala’s Homepreneur Awards, an initiative by Brand Avatar. These dynamic individuals have transformed their kitchens into studios, living rooms into classrooms, and passion into prosperity.

The awards were presented to the winners by distinguished guests and celebrities. On this occasion,Lok Sabha MP Dayanidhi Maran said Periyar’s women’s liberation is the aim of the Dravidian model government and  praised Shakti Masala’s Suya Sakthi Virudhugal  Awards for giving women that self-confidence.while honouring Priyanka Harish from Chennai, who received the award in the “Digital Homepreneur” category  and S. Radhalakshmi Sathishkumar from Coimbatore  with the Agriculture Award.Suhasini Mani Ratnam  presented Sakthi Pen Award to Ms. Revathi was acknowledged in the “Entertainment” category, for Best Female Personality at the function.  

The awards were presented to the winners by  Mr. PC Duraisamy and Mrs. Santhi Duraiswamy bestowed the Sakthi Pen Award (inspirational award) upon Shantha (Shantha Patti samayal) from Chennai in the “Food and Beverages” category. 

Other winners included Rtn Dr. Renuka Ramakrishnan from Chennai,  who won the award in the “Social Welfare” category, G. Josephine Regina Ponmani from Chennai, who won the award in the “Home Professional” category; Gayathri S from Coimbatore, who secured the award in the “Beauty & Wellness” category; S. Shahnaaz from Tajore, who earned the award in the “Arts & Culture” category; Sindhu S from Coimbatore, who was recognized in the “Education & Literature” category;  and Sathya Kavitha from Trichy, both of whom were awarded in the “Agriculture” category; Aishwarya Sivakumar from Chennai, who excelled in the “Social Welfare” category; Bhuvaneshwari Kumaravel from Dubai, who stood out in the “NRI” category; Gowrisankari Sureshkumar from Erode, who shone in the “Media & Entertainment” category; Vithya Naganathan from Salem, who triumphed in the “Sports & Fitness” category; Vardhini K from Chennai, who was recognized in the “Healthcare” category; and Geetha Mallineni from Chennai, who was awarded in the “Food & Beverages” category.

Furthermore, among the recipients of the Sakthi Pen Award (Inspirational Awards), PADMA SHRI Meenakshi Chitharanjan was honoured in the “Arts & Culture” category, and Sruti Nakul was lauded with the Positive Influencer Award.

Over the last 6 years more than 12,000 women have applied for the awards and Homepreneur Awards has recognized and empowered more than 350 women through recognition and grants. This year’s event carried a global resonance as more than 60 percent of applicants hailed from beyond the vibrant streets of Chennai. Furthermore, an astonishing quarterfold increase in applications was witnessed from enthusiastic individuals outside of India.

Celebrities including Naturals C.K.Kumaravel, Veena Kumaravel, Chennai Corporation Commissioner Radhakrishnan, Krithika Radhakrishnan, Suhasini Maniratnam, Poornima Bakhyaraj, Neena Reddy, Latha Padiarajan, Shailaja Setlur, Saranya Jayakumar, Meena Sapriya, RJ Vigneshkanth, Madan Karki, Music Composer James Vasanthan attended the award ceremony.
