ICWO – Indian Community Welfare Organisation along with SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur & NSS – National Service Scheme organized NSS Day Celebration and Awareness Programme on Anti-Human Trafficking on 24th September 2024 at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur.
The Chief Guest Dr.P.M.Nair , IPS (Retd.), International Expert, Human Trafficking Matters speaking on the occasion he delivers the key role of youth in prevention of crime against women and children in Tamilnadu. He explained the various ill efforts of human trafficking, which affects women and children most in the case of vulnerable children. He gave various tips on youth Awareness to protect themselves and others from sexual exploitation.
Presidential Address Mr.A.J.Hariharan, Founder & CEO, ICWO – Indian Community Welfare Organisation presented an interesting case study about the success story of rescue and reinteraction of a minor boy in collaboration with law enforcement agency, AHTC- Anti Human Trafficking Club and NGOs. The emphasis the youth have tremendous power to change the world and make the better place for our women and children. He appreciated NSS, SRMIST Professors for an excellent arrangement and willing to partnership with NSS in future intervention to protect youth from sexual exploitation or being trafficked. He also appreciated the Department of Social Work, SRMIST for their excellency in field work and guided exposure visits. During the orientation 250 students participated in the Awareness Program.
