Chennai:
In an earnest effort to raise awareness and improve understanding of children’s learning disabilities, Aditya Nair, a member of MSRT—159 who has faced similar difficulties, organized a conference with the support of Madras Spice Round Table—159, Madras Spice Ladies Circle—133, and the Alpha to Omega Learning Centre.
Lalitha Ramanujan, Founder and Director of Alpha to Omega Learning Centre, was the event’s key speaker. She highlighted how learning disabilities hinder a child’s development and how as parents we fail to recognise these challenges faced by children.
She presented learning techniques parents can use to help improve their child’s academic performance regardless of whether the child faces learning disabilities or not.
At the conference held in The Presidency Club at Egmore, Chennai, Lalitha Ramanujan also conducted an activity session for the attendants/parents on handling children with learning difficulties and developing their skills to equip them to face opportunities and challenges.
Varun Mohta, Partner at Windowstein and head of Madras Spice Round Table—159, said, “This conference is part of our ongoing initiatives to create an inclusive world where everyone gets equal opportunity. We are happy to partner with Madras Spice Ladies Circle—133 and Alpha to Omega Learning Centre for this event, which provided vital understanding to parents on how they can empower their children to learn better.”
Nishtha Mohta, Business Development Officer, Windowstein, and the head of Madras Spice Ladies Circle – 133, said, “Many parents who have children with learning disabilities are clueless as to how to handle them and equip them. I am sure this conference would help parents unlock their child’s true potential by demystifying the art of overcoming learning disabilities.”
Lalitha Ramanujan’s passion for helping children succeed, whatever their challenges are, has driven Alpha to Omega for nearly 30 years. She holds an MA and M Phil in Psychology and has worked extensively with international institutions and esteemed professors of education.
